Dream Junior Golf Academy

Our program will be starting Monday, May 27th (for the Monday registrants) and Wednesday, May 29th (for the Wednesday registrants). The final Monday session will be Monday, July 29th and the final Wednesday session will be Wednesday, July 31st.

Welcome to Canada’s largest introduction to the game of golf for junior golfer’s age 4 to 14 (plus the odd 3 year old).  Our program was introduced in 2009 with one class a week and we have grown from the 56 children then to over 1,000 some years.

Many have asked “Why is this program so successful?” and to be honest we believe it is the simplicity of the event.  We want it to be fun for the kids by introducing some basic skills of the sport in a non-threatening group environment. 

The program runs weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays from the end of May (May 27th, 2024) until the end of July(31st) with 3 time slots on each day; 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 pm.  It is ok to come at any one of the three times however we have made sure that everyone registers for one day or the other and we must be strict on that so we can accommodate the numbers.  Please allow yourself a few extra minutes to get here on time as the train tracks are usually very busy and may hold you up.

There is no need to check in to the golf shop when you arrive unless you are bringing a guest as we do offer a $10 guest drop in fee.  If you have golf clubs that are correct size for your child bring them, but if not we have plenty.

Note:  Washrooms are beside the event tent and in the clubhouse.

When the children arrive (at 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00pm) we call them all together at the back of the driving range where I will stand on the picnic table and address the crowd, welcoming them, giving announcements etc.  The large group will then be divided into 3 and directed to the station,  they will be starting on;  either chipping, putting or full swing.  Every 15 minutes we will rotate stations (full swing – chipping – putting) or (chipping – putting – full swing) or (putting – full swing – chipping), depending on where you start rotation is always the same.

As we operate with plenty of volunteer instructors and are at the mercy of their schedules.  Some weeks we will have plenty, some we will be shorthanded.  We are going to accommodate the children to the best of our ability and resources.  There are chairs and tables set up at the back of the driving range for the parents and guest to enjoy thanks to the C.O.R.A. program.
