At Dream Junior Golf Academy, we are the proud host of Canada’s largest Junior Golf Academy. Our academy is an introduction to the game of golf to boys and girls ages 4 to 14. We operate in a fun group setting with 3 stations (full swing, putting and chipping). The kids can sign up for either the Monday sessions or the Wednesday sessions, whatever works best for the family’s schedule. We do limit signing up to one or the other. We offer 3 times on Monday or Wednesday (5:00, 6:00 or 7:00). Parents can choose on a weekly basis what time to show up, it does not matter to us. Once the kids are here we meet at the picnic tables at the back of the driving range and divide up into 3 groups (one for each station). Every 15 minutes we rotate to the next station giving the kids some time at all 3 stations every week. After the session kids are treated to a hot dog and a drink every week and if they are fortunate enough to sink their “challenge putt” or “challenge chip” they will receive a ring pop for a prize. If the kids have golf clubs, bring them, if not, do not worry , we have plenty. The Junior Academy starts the Monday after the May Long Weekend (May 28th) and goes right through to the end of July. We are working on taking registrations online and the kids will receive a first tee gift ( that sign up for the season). Please “Like” us on Facebook for updates. We are excited to offer new Golf Camps for our advanced children We will be offering golf camps for children that have outgrown our Dream Junior Golf Academy introduction to the game of golf program. These programs are designed for children 10 – 15 (or advanced younger kids) and will run for 3 hours a day for 5 days. In addition to the Introduction to Golf, Collicutt Siding is offering 5 day golf camps in July. Classes are offered for the following dates: Brakeman Category – July 1st to 5th or July 15th to 19 Conductor Category – July 8th to 12th or July 22nd to 26th Daily Program contents (but not limited to)- Rules of golf, Etiquette and safety
- Golf course terminology and maintenance
- Driving, putting, chipping, short game
- Greenside and fairway bunker play
- Golf club construction, Golf terminology
- On course play
- Minimum 2 years previous participation in Introduction to Golf and/or demonstrated ability in basic fundamentals – grip, setup, posture, swing/stroke as they relate to driving, chipping, putting
- Must have their own golf clubs with the set to include a minimum of driver, fairway wood or hybrid, 1 long iron (3 – 6), 1 short iron (7- PW), sand wedge, putter
- Proper golf attire
- Minimum 2 years previous participation in Introduction to Golf
- Previous participation in an advanced program
- Demonstrated ability in basic fundamentals – grip, setup, posture, swing/stroke as they relate to driving, chipping, putting
- Demonstrated playing ability
- Must have their own golf clubs with the set to include a minimum of driver, fairway wood or hybrid, 1 long iron (3 – 6), 1 short iron (7- PW), sand wedge, putter
